Greetings Minions!

I was finally able to get the ‘Blood Moon’ candles all packaged, charged and blessed –

These smell absolutely amazing! The fragrance chosen is one that will inspire transformation – as well as getting in touch with the current things in your life that may be requiring change. Altar work for these candles followed a similar path.

These are available in a 6 cavity clamshell melting tart – ‘scentsy’ type.

2 oz aluminum travel tin – with lid

4 oz aluminum travel tin – with lid

The travel tins are perfect for using at home, or taking with you when you travel. They are handy to use in a hotel room, or in a guest room – to spruce up the air. Or, if you prefer to work your magick outside – they are great for that type of travel, as well.  I have had clients purchase travel tins of spell candles for workings in a parking lot, neighbors’ driveway, outside the home of their intended target…LOL  The possibilities are endless!

These items can be found in my Esty shop at: https://www.etsy.com/shop/InexplicableThings

Or on my website – Inexplicable Things at: http://www.inexplicablethings.com

I am proud to offer these babies with FREE (that’s right folks, FREE) Domestic Shipping!

Blood Moon Blood Moon Soy Candles Blood Moon Tarts

In addition to the ‘Blood Moon’ candles – I also have two remaining bottles of ‘Blood Moon Ghost Water’ – this water was transformed into a powerful spell or séance component when I left it over night during the Full Blood Moon in a nearby cemetery here in the bayou. Need to contact spirits or someone that has passed during the month of October – use this water to give your magick a little extra ‘oomph’ to get the job done!

The bottles are super cute and goth-y – I haven’t decorated them completely yet – for more customization. Tell me your colors and I will make it happen!

This holy grail of séance magick can be found both in my Etsy shop, as well InexplicableThings.com

More fantastical items being conjured daily, my lovelies! One more day and the greatest month of the year is upon us!!!

{insert evil cackle here}

Stay tuned . . .

Hello again, my minions!

I thought since I was on a roll, I might as well do another blog posting.

This is on one of the projects we have started since moving to the bayou.

The dear hubby read an article about turning compost into actual dirt – so thought he would give it a go.

We allowed the lawn (almost an acre!) grow for two weeks at a time. We collected all the grass clippings and started piling them in a particularly sunny spot on the property. After a week, he manually turned the clippings over and watered them down a few times.

Two weeks ago, he made a concoction of water, beer, soda and ammonia and attached it to a nozzle that hooked to the sprinkler. He gave everything a nice little soaking, while I mowed the lawn again and put all additional grass clippings in the pile. Oh, I forgot to mention, we also cleaned out the refrigerator a few times and had things like moldy cauliflower, bread crumbs and even some coffee grounds in the mix. He then used a small cultivator attachment for our weed eater to turn things over.

We had to fall a dead tree and used it as a border around our little compost heap.

For the next week, he watered the area a little each evening.

Finally, late Sunday evening, he decided to drop a few seeds on the ground. Now, mind you, these seeds were not pretreated or anything – they came right out of the package (we got a great heirloom mix from Eden Brothers at www.EdenBrothers.com ). Hoping for some growth before we got too late in the season.

Again, every evening for 4 days, he watered.

And behold…on the 4th day – life sprang forth!! He must have done something right.

5 4

Just goes to show ya… if you don’t have decent soil for growing vegetation… make it!

Now, we do live in the great state of Louisiana… so decent soil really isn’t much of an issue… but this is just an added bonus. I won’t have to add any potting soil or anything to me planters when I plant all my herbs!!

Super excited about this! And it’s renewable, sustainable, and downright good for you!

Now…about keeping the critters out – the next challenge!

More to come about this little project!

Greetings and Salutations from the bayou!

So many wonderful things have happened since last we spoke! I apologize for my absence over the last couple of months – but it will not be happening again.

As most of you know – my family and I moved not once, not twice, but three times in the last 6 or 7 months – but we are now firmly rooted (using that term loosely) in the bayou! We purchased a quaint little cottage on a little piece of land surrounded by life and trees and things that will bite you!

11295538_10204193660390898_3162972242267449427_n Front lawn

We are less than a mile from a beautiful lake that is home to the largest cypress forest in the world! It’s amazing here! I spend evenings on the porch or in the trees trying desperately to catch the millions of lightning bugs that put on quite a show each night. I feed the squirrels and vow to have one as a pet eating out of my hand by year’s end! I have a yard full of small toads and bright green lizards that invariably keep me company when I walk through the grass. I even have made friends with a small box turtle that keeps sentinel around the perimeter of the property. I love it here!

11255083_10204428123572331_2063781060679787704_n11222127_10204532626584841_6535986148560154406_n11011735_10204324055610697_7053216569011013767_n

It has taken me a few months to settle in, set up shop, get my personal working altar up and running and begin some semblance of a normalcy that I can call routine. I have chosen a picture window in the living room that looks out towards the dense woods behind our home. This will be where many things come to pass! The hubby is working on an office-type set-up for me, but for now, a recliner and TV tray will suffice.

Things worth noting:

Inexplicable Things finally has its own website! *and the crowd cheers*

This only took about 7 years, but who’s counting?! It’s still under construction, but will most likely be a living, breathing, changing thing anyhow. I am using the site to focus on those fans of a darker nature. Those that need a little help and are afraid of who to ask for fear of being judged. We all could use some help sometimes… and sometimes that means doing whatever is necessary. There are a great many practitioners out there that focus on the good and happy – but what about when we need have that need for justice or vengeance gnawing at us? What about righting a wrong done to you? This will also be a place I can show off some of the bones and more nefarious wares that I stumble across in my travels. My cemetery photography will also be captured there.

So, for those that care to visit, please be sure to check me out at:

    www.inexplicablethings.com

I have completed my studies through Lucky Mojo’s Hoodoo / Rootwork Correspondence Course. It took me just about a year since starting, but I was able to complete it. Many of the things I learned, I already had a sense of understanding, but it also clarified a few things. I have a much better understanding of Hoodoo and Southern Folk Magic now – and I can combine that with my own brand of magic. This only makes me more powerful and able to do more for my clients.

I can say this… since combining Southern Folk magic and Hoodoo with the brand of magic I already practiced, I have seen amazing results. I am looking at close to 100% success rate, right now. I can’t wait to start helping even more! Seems like everyone has a niche, if they can just find it. I think I may have found mine – even if it does require lurking in the shadows!

So – being back down in the South and in particular, the bayou, has been a blessing. More to come!

In the meantime – please stop by InexplicableThings.com

Let me know if you are in need of any services that I haven’t gotten around to listing yet – or if you have something in particular going on in your life that you could use some help with, or just talk about. I’m always here – with an open ear.

More to come soon, my minions! Oh, how I’ve missed you!

Beginnings, Blog, Cajun, Candles, Color, Conjure, Etsy, Hello, Hoodoo, Inexplicable Things, Louisiana, Soy

And so, it’s been awhile, since I was able to properly visit this blog.

It’s been a whirlwind of change and adventure for my family. The husband and I made a quick trip to Louisiana in early January – all on the spur of the moment after looking at property on the internet. We met with a realtor at 10 AM and by 4 PM we were signing papers with a broker!

In late February, we up and moved from West Texas, back to our beloved state of all things Cajun. Needless to say – the previous month had been filled with struggles. With everything from the seller cutting down large pine trees to failed/forgotten appraisals. At the end of the day, we wound up deciding that there were simply too many odds against the property and it wasn’t meant to be ours.

Since then, we have found a place to call home for a bit, and I have been able to get back to my candle craft. I have reset my altar, and increased work on a few things. I am about to complete a professional photography certificate, as well as my certified Hoodoo Rootworking course. It’s a time of completion, as well as the anticipation of new beginnings to come.

Monkey IV

I am finally to spot where I can offer my candle creations on Etsy again. These candles are all natural soy – which is clean burning, offers much fragrance throw and benefits the American soy bean farmer! My 8oz candles come in a high quality, reusable glass tumbler and packaged in a cute gift box.

They are all handcrafted and hand-poured – with love and happiness. They are not mass produced, nor fancy packaged – but they can be blessed to suit your specific needs.

Candles of a darker nature can also be had here – simply for the asking. More to come , soon, my pets!

Be sure to get over to my Etsy shop at: https://www.etsy.com/shop/InexplicableThings

December 24th – Celtic Birch Moon

Today begins the Celtic New Year – the month of the Birch Moon – which just happens to be the perfect time for new beginnings and making plans for the future. As we draw closer and closer to the end of our regularly observed calendar year, we are ever closer to the beginning of the next.

The Birch Moon begins just after Yule and runs through most of January. Yule is the marked as the shortest day of the year – so the Birch Moon was rejoiced as this begins the period when the daylight hours begin to increase over the hours of darkness. The Birch tree itself is usually the first tree to grow back after a forest has been cut – this only reinforces it’s association with new beginnings. This tree is one of extreme hardiness and will easily thrive in places where Oaks and others cannot. This is the perfect tree for ‘sticking to your guns’ with your New Years Resolutions.

It falls into a “quiet time” which is considered the bleakest time of the year – a great time for reflection and introspection. I generally like to spend a great deal of time in contemplation over the things that occurred in my life during the past year, as well as looking ahead to the future and starting to make plans for the year ahead – hence the term of New Year’s Resolutions.

The following is spell that I have worked for myself, as well as for a few clients. I have also successfully set lights for clients during this time of year for them to realize their resolutions.

1337933560_Candle

Resolution Blessing Spell

Go for a walk outside – collect a birch branch or twig, if you can locate one. They often grow in very urban areas such as parks, nature trails, etc.

When you return home, take a few drops of rose, frankincense or benzoin oil and rub them into the palm of your hand. Annoint a red candle with the oil.

Light the candle and stand in front of it for a few moments – thinking about your resolutions. If you are planning to learn something, see yourself having already learned the task and performing it well – no matter what it is. State your intent – ‘I will write a novel’ or ‘I will learn to sky jump’ whatever it is.

Hold the birch twig at one end and pass it through the candle flames. Turn it around and draw a circle around you in the air – this bind you to the spell.

Repeat your incantation about learning the new task.

Sit down, relax, and visualize yourself performing the task perfectly, time and time again.  When you are finished, extinguish the candle.

Prosperity 101

Blog, Candles, Cast, Coin, Color, Conjure, Coven, Craft, Dark, Divination, DIY, Herbs, Hoodoo, Luck, Money, New Year, Pagan, Prosperity, Rootwork, Silver, Spells, Wish

This time of year, I think we could all use a little extra financial boost.

This is just a little collection of prosperity boosting spells and root work that I have complied. The list includes only those spells that I have performed for clients, for myself, or that I have first-hand knowledge of someone using.

If anyone would like for me to perform a setting of lights or any candle work for them, please feel free to contact me directly. I will provide you with photos of before, during and after – as well as a detailed description of what I saw during the working, and finally, you will receive a packet/mojo of left over candle wax, herbs, and curios with complete instructions on what course of action to take next.

Setting candles

On a piece of paper, write down the money troubles you are having. Then chant to yourself for these problems to be resolved and to eventually disappear completely, from your life. Burn the paper.

Carry fresh mint leaves in your wallet or checkbook. The leaves will be more powerful if you can wrap them around a silver dollar coin.

Money Oil recipe

3 parts ginger

2 parts orange

4 parts pine

2 parts cinnamon

½ part chamomile

1 part cedar

Shake well. Decant into a small bottle. Blend in a wheat germ base and orange blossoms and pine needles. Allow to stand for 3 days.

Wealth Spell – using Coltsfoot

For wealth and prosperity for the coming New Year, take a husk from an ear of corn and put a dollar bill inside. Also place a hand written note on a piece of brown paper sack. On the paper, write something like:

Gods of luck

Money is like muck

Not good except to be spread.

Spread some of it (write your address)

Thanks be to the thee.

Sign your name.

Sprinkle the dollar bill and note with Coltsfoot leaves. Roll the husk up and tie together with green string or ribbon. Hang the token above the entryway of your home with a green cord or string. This husk should bring riches into your home or business!

To find money, one should make a conjure bag containing a small horseshoe and lodestone to attract and draw wealth to you. Add Smartweed to the bag – this will enable you to see how to capture the money you seek and hold onto it without being led astray by unprofitable distractions or foolish delays. Feed your conjure bag with a sprinkle of magnetic sand every third day until you find the amount of money you need. Do not be greedy!

Sprinkle cinnamon on your money before you spend it.

Always hand dollar bills out folded in half.

Before shopping, envision that whatever you spend comes back to your several times over.

Every day, drop a penny in a jar and say

“My life is filled with abundance. And all my needs are met.”

Place mint in with your money to make it grow.

Keep an organic, unshelled almond in your purse or wallet – wrapped in a small piece of green cloth. You will always have enough money.

Knot Spell for money

While tying 9 knots in a green, 13” silk cord or ribbon, say

By knot of one, my spell’s begun

By knot of two, plenty fruitful work to do

By knot of three, money comes to me

By knot of four, opportunity knocks at my door

By knot of five, my business thrives

By knot of six, this spell is fixed

By knot of seven, success is given

By knot of eight, increase is great

By knot of nine, these things are mine

Keep the knotted cord in a safe place until things turn around for you financially. Then dispose of it, by burial – DO NOT untie the knots.

I have a large variety of spells and root work to pull from. Some passed down for generations. My services have been requested by many – with great success. Again, if you would like for Inexplicable Things to set lights for you, or perform any candle work, simply contact me. I will have a few questions to ask before we begin.

Good luck in your quests – and may prosperity find you in the coming New Year!

The Moon and her Magick . . .

Blog, Candles, Color, Conjure, Craft, Dark, Intent, Lunar, Magick, Moon, Phase

Need a little help or guidance with an issue at hand? Or maybe you need an ear to bend to relieve some stress. Do you follow the moon phases for planting your garden or even cutting your hair?

I am drawn to the path of the Moon. Most likely this has something to do with my gender. Now gents, I am not saying that ya’ll aren’t drawn to her either, but let’s face it – women are so closely connected to the Moon’s phases.

I have always been a night owl and feel a strong connection to the Moon. I enjoy going outside on evenings of the Full Moon and gazing at her for periods of time. She has lit my way, on more than one occasion, when I had no light source. She has helped me find my way out of a thick, dense forest in central Missouri. She has provided me with light for a little nighttime fishing. She has been a friend and confidant and knows some of my innermost secrets. She has been with me all my life and has quietly listened to countless hours of rambling.  For those of us that enjoy a bit of Moon Magick, here are a few ideas about each phase, as well as examples that might prove beneficial.

Our beautiful circular companion has 4 primary phases – First Quarter, Full Moon, Third Quarter and New Moon. Each phase is roughly 7 days each, give or take a few hours.

First Quarter Moon – This moon phases is a time to truly discover one’s strength. A first crisis, if you will. Concentration and a release of personal power are important. This is a time for passion and creativity to take over. It provides vitality, courage, strength and stimulates the heart. Pretty much self-explanatory here – personal power and courage! Use a red candle for any work you do.

moon_phases_diagram

Full Moon – This is a time to do your heart’s desire, of course, but I like to focus on guidance, completion of projects, and the decision-making processes of the previous phase.  Aries is good to incorporate into such spells, especially since Aries is great for quick action and a boost of enthusiasm. Sometimes I need that enthusiasm at the end as my feelings wane a bit.  I have used this time to help me get projects done, as well as ensure that they are all they can be.  Guidance is a good focus – it can help determine where you should put your talents to use next. There is always a strong emphasis on relationship issues during a Full Moon, as well. It’s a great time to find everything within oneself, except loneliness. Share life! Learn to know yourself through action, rather than reflection.  Full Moon

This moon also provides a time for enlightenment and inner wisdoms. It can provide clarity, alertness and eternal optimism. Use yellow candles during this time to benefit wholeheartedly.

New Moon – this is a time when it’s difficult to see her or she is not visible at all. This is a perfect time for finishing up phases and beginning new cycles. New ideas begin to shape, new things pop into your life. The New Moon represents protection – it creates a shield for the beginning of a cycle.

New Moon

A good spell a New Moon would be one for a new venture / employment / business.  I would choose to incorporate Libra for balance, or Aquarius for the social aspect.  Use black candles for any work you do.

Last Quarter Moon – A time to simplify life – a crisis of consciousness and dominating intellect. A time to learn to come out of oneself and be freed by a spiritual vision. If you have personal attachments, this is a great time to be done with them. The moon phase focuses on balancing energies with the mind and the body – as well as helps them flow more easily with life – less stress! Use purple candles during this time – will help to achieve your balance. Use magick that will help you to begin the process of wrapping up projects and seeing them to their finish.

M33f9

Now that the four principle phases have been discussed – not everyone knows that you can benefit from several additional phases – aren’t you the lucky one?

Gibbous Moon – This moon represents a period of reflection. We see the Moon as almost full, but less than – if that makes sense. This is an amazing time to discover the whole of one’s inner life. A time to manifest one’s inner truth, faithfulness to your persona disciplines, take a note of self-worth – are you being true to yourself? Purity and protection are important here – as this time creates great atmosphere for meditation, centering and innocence. White candles will help you achieve more during a Gibbous Moon.

Gibbous Moon

Crescent Moon – the Moon here is barely visible. This is a great time to seek out rare adventures! Do something totally off the wall for you – try something new…enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! Organizational skills will become stronger during this Moon, as well as an individual’s will. This Moon phase represents the zest for life – along with a wee bit of stability. It can help bring forth courage and optimism.

Waxing Crescent

If the moon is Waxing, or growing in size, one would benefit from spells that promote changes and building upon something already there. A new inspiration for a project would really begin to take shape here – as well as any new ideas that you have been holding onto. I generally use this time to brainstorm for my Etsy shop – new candle ideas, new home décor creations. Try to incorporate something Gemini related – as Gemini helps with communication and curiosity. Use an orange candle for this type of work.

Waning CrescentA waning Moon, or one that is shrinking in size, is a great time to banish or be rid of things that are holding you back or blocking your way. I have used this time to help overcome bad habits or remove myself from negative influences. In Hoodoo, this is a great time to open blocked roads. A good sign to help with things of this nature is Cancer – very nurturing and emotional – which can help you overcome obstacles with a sense of comfort. When you are attempting to overcome obstacles or to move past bad or negative habits – it is important to remember to be good to yourself – or the person you are casting for. The one trying to overcome needs to feel hands of support behind them – knowing that if they fall, they will be caught. Again, an orange candle works best.

Disseminating Moon – this is the phase that happens shortly after a Full Moon. After all the illuminating insight you gained during the Full Moon – now is the time to put that newfound knowledge to work for you. Emphasis during this time is communication. New ideas need to be communicated – outwardly. Try to relate creatively, outside your comfort zone and ignite the world with your force. This is another time for great meditative strengthening, vocal expression, sharing. Use a blue candle for the most bang for your buck. Disseminating Moon 75%

balsamic-moon-feb-17-2012-017Balsamic Moon – this moon is just a slim crescent of moon – its 45 degrees behind the Sun and is the last phase before a New Moon. This phase is one of great personal advantage. A time to release ANYTHING left over from old moon cycles. It helps unite and accept yourself, and confront your deepest fears during this time. You have the ability to draw lovers to you and remove past hurts and deep sorrows. It’s soothing, serene and helps eliminate animosity. Use pink candles when working during this phase.

So there you have it – I have had great success for years when trying attune myself to the Moon phase. The key here is to be open – I have also learned that if you need something specific and immediately, and find yourself in the wrong Moon phase, just reconsider your wording for the spell. Transition it, and the spell casting can still work in your favor. The Deities are always listening – they are making sure YOU are, as well.

Candles, Color, Conjure, Craft, Hoodoo, Magick, Paganism, Philosophies, Spells

For centuries, colors have been used for magickal purposes. They can create, change or enhance a mood; bring about an emotional response; keep one grounded to activity at hand – just to name a few.

Each pantheon and philosophy seem to have their own ideas of what different colors mean. But, this is my blog ~ I am a Witch of Chaos ~ and so, my colors may or may not line up directly with how you perceive their influences.

powder01

Black: ~ Spellbreaking, banishing, jinxing, hexing, removing crossed conditions, mourning

Brown: ~ Earth, grounding, caution, court cases, animal magick

Green: ~ Money, luck, gambling, crop success, business success, employment

Blue: ~ Peace, wisdom, harmony, children

Purple: ~ Mastery, power, honor, protection, keeping evil away, control

Red: ~ Sexual magick, domination, energy, lust, passion, vigor

Pink: ~ Love, affection, romance, attraction, reconciliation

Orange: ~ Stimulation, friendship, change, road opener, removing blockages

Yellow: ~ Concentration, creativity, general success

Gold: ~ Gambling, male power and vitality

Grey: ~ Meditation, clarification, neutrality

White: ~ Blessings, purity, spirit, abundance

These colors correspond greatly to many European magickal traditions, as well as Hoodoo and conjure candle work. Interpretation can always be left up to the user, however. Just because it doesn’t fit someone else’s category, doesn’t mean it’s wrong!  But more about that later!
